Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little project today: digging into Real Madrid sports memorabilia.
I started this morning with a simple idea: I wanted to organize my collection, and really see what I had. I’ve got jerseys, scarves, signed photos… it’s a bit of a mess, to be honest. So, I cleared off the dining room table (sorry, family!) and laid everything out.
Getting Started
First, I separated everything by type. Jerseys in one pile, scarves in another, photos, programs, ticket stubs…you get the idea. It was already looking better than the crammed-in-a-box situation I had before.

- Jerseys: These are my pride and joy. I’ve got a few vintage ones, a couple of signed ones, and some more recent ones.
- Made notes on the condition of the jerseys, are they clean, are there stains?
- Scarves: Mostly match-day scarves, a few from special Champions League finals.
- Made notes on the condition of the scarves.
- Photos: A mix of signed player photos and some I took myself at matches.
- Made notes if the signature was real or reprint, also if the photo condition.
- Other stuff: Programs, ticket stubs, a random Real Madrid-branded mug… the usual fan clutter.
- Made notes on ticket date and seat location, for fun.
Then, I went through each pile, one by one. I checked for any damage, made a note of anything particularly special (like, “This is the jersey from the 2017 Champions League final!”), and took photos of everything.
Honestly the jersey section alone took up most of my time, there are just so many!
Organize and Catalog!
After the initial sort and check, I started organizing. I decided to put the jerseys in protective sleeves – gotta keep those safe! The scarves I folded neatly and put in a separate box. I found some old photo albums and started putting the photos and ticket stubs in those.
The biggest thing I did was create a simple spreadsheet. Just a basic list: item, description, year, any notes (like if it’s signed, or a special edition). This way, I can easily keep track of everything, I finished inputting all my items and it all looks good!
It took most of the day, but it was totally worth it. Now I have a much better handle on my Real Madrid memorabilia collection. It’s organized, it’s documented, and I can actually enjoy it instead of just having it stashed away. Plus, I rediscovered some items I’d completely forgotten about! Found that ticket when I went with my dad, oh man…good times.
