Man, Halloween’s just around the corner, and you know what that means – time to get those costumes sorted! This year, I decided to go for a classic: a New York Yankees Halloween costume. I’ve always been a huge Yankees fan, so I figured, why not show my team spirit on the spookiest night of the year?
First things first, I needed to find a costume. I hit up a bunch of online stores, but nothing really caught my eye. Everything was either too cheap-looking or way too expensive. Plus, I wanted something a bit more unique than just a standard jersey.
Then, I remembered I had an old Yankees jersey tucked away in my closet. It was a bit worn out, but that actually added to the vibe I was going for. I paired it with some old baseball pants I found at a thrift store – score! They were a little ripped, which I thought was perfect for a “zombie baseball player” look.

The real fun began with the makeup. I’m no makeup artist, but I watched a few YouTube tutorials on zombie makeup and gave it my best shot. I used some white face paint as a base and added some dark circles under my eyes to make me look extra tired (well, undead!). I even smudged some dirt on my face and clothes to give it that “fresh out of the grave” feel.
To top it all off, I grabbed my trusty Yankees cap. I messed it up a bit, added a few fake cobwebs, and voila! My zombie Yankees player costume was complete.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I used:
- Old Yankees jersey from my closet
- Ripped baseball pants from a thrift store
- White face paint
- Dark eyeshadow for under-eye circles
- Dirt (yes, real dirt!)
- Yankees cap
- Fake cobwebs
I gotta say, I was pretty happy with how it all turned out. It was a fun, DIY project, and it definitely stood out from the usual superhero and movie character costumes. Plus, it was a great way to show my love for the Yankees! I’ll keep tinkering and improving on my costume until then.
I’m thinking of adding some fake blood next. Maybe some ripped-up jersey action? The possibilities are endless! What do you guys think? Any suggestions to make my zombie Yankees player even better?
Anyway, I hope this gives you some inspiration for your own Halloween costumes. Don’t be afraid to get creative and think outside the box. And if you’re a Yankees fan, well, you know what team to represent!

Happy haunting, everyone!
