Today, I wanted to mess around with this thing called “decied”. I’d heard about it from some buddies, and it sounded kinda cool. So, I decided to give it a shot.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find out exactly what “decied” even was. I did a quick search and, well, it took a bit of digging. Turns out, it’s about, making up my mind and taking action quickly. I guess, anyway.
My Little Experiment
I’m a big fan of the “just do it” method.

So I figured, okay, let’s try this “decied” thing out on something small. I had this pile of papers on my desk that I’d been meaning to sort through. It was one of those things I kept putting off, you know?
I set a timer for, like, 10 minutes. Just 10 minutes to make a decision on each paper: keep it, toss it, or file it. No overthinking, just quick decisions.
The Process (It Was Messy)
- Paper 1: Old bill. Tossed it. Easy.
- Paper 2: Some random notes. Couldn’t even remember what they were about. Tossed.
- Paper 3: A letter from… who knows? I decided to open up the letter to read.
- Paper 4: …okay, this one was trickier. It was some financial thing I needed to deal with, but I didn’t want to. The timer was ticking! I made the call: file it for later, but with a reminder on my phone to actually deal with it tomorrow.
I kept going like that. Some decisions were super easy, some were a bit harder, but the point was to just decide and move on.
The End Result
Honestly? It felt pretty good. That pile of papers was smaller, and I felt like I’d actually accomplished something. It wasn’t perfect, and I definitely didn’t get through everything, but it was a start. And the whole “decied” thing? It’s kinda growing on me. It’s about taking action, even if it’s small, and that’s something I can get behind.

I am very happy to get the result.
