Okay, so here’s the deal with the football party favors I whipped up for my kiddo’s birthday. It was a blast, a bit messy, but totally worth it.
First things first, the planning! My son is football crazy, so a football-themed party was a no-brainer. I knew I wanted to do more than just the typical candy-filled goodie bags. I wanted something fun, memorable, and maybe even a little useful.
I started brainstorming ideas. Mini footballs were an obvious choice, but I wanted something more personalized. That’s when it hit me: personalized water bottles and some kind of football-shaped treat!

Hitting the Craft Store! Next up, the shopping spree! I grabbed a bunch of plain water bottles from the dollar store – the kind you can easily slap a sticker on. Then, I headed to the craft store for some green and brown felt, googly eyes, glue, and those little white craft sticks that look like popsicle sticks.
Water Bottle Mania! For the water bottles, I designed some simple football-themed labels on my computer. I printed them out on sticker paper (you could also just use regular paper and tape). Each label had a football graphic, my son’s name, and “Birthday Team!”. I stuck those on the water bottles, making sure they were nice and smooth.
Felt Football Fun! Now for the felt footballs! I cut out a bunch of football shapes from the brown felt. Then, I cut out smaller strips of white felt to make the laces. I glued the laces onto the footballs and added a couple of googly eyes to each one to make them look a bit silly. I then glued a craft stick to the back of each felt football so the kids could hold them up and pretend to be football players. Simple, but effective!
Sweet Treats! Of course, I needed some sweets! I baked a batch of brownies and used a football-shaped cookie cutter to make them extra festive. I wrapped each brownie in cellophane and tied it with a green ribbon.
Assembling the Favors! Finally, the assembly line! Each kid got a personalized water bottle, a felt football, and a football brownie. I put everything in small green paper bags that I bought from the dollar store.

The Big Hit! The party was a success, and the kids LOVED the party favors! They were running around with their felt footballs, sipping from their water bottles, and munching on their brownies. It was awesome seeing how much they enjoyed them.
The Aftermath! Clean up wasn’t too bad, although I did find googly eyes stuck to random places for days afterward. Would I do it again? Absolutely! It was a fun project, and the kids really appreciated the effort. Plus, it was way more personal than just buying a bunch of cheap toys that would probably end up in the trash.
Final Thoughts! If you’re looking for some easy and fun football party favor ideas, give these a try! They’re relatively inexpensive, customizable, and sure to be a touchdown with the kids!
