What is 135 Divided by 2? (Elementary Math for Everyone!)

Okay, so today I tried out this “135 / 2” thing. It’s basically a productivity method, or at least that’s what I gathered. I was feeling super scattered, like my to-do list was a mile long and I was just jumping from one thing to another without really finishing anything.

Figuring Out the “135” Part

First, I had to figure out what this 135 even meant. I did some quick searching, and It seems like it stands for:

  • 1 Big Thing: The most important task, the one that absolutely needs to get done.
  • 3 Medium Things: Important tasks, but not as urgent as the big one.
  • 5 Little Things: Smaller, quicker tasks that can be easily checked off.

My To-Do List Disaster

I looked at my current to-do list, it’s always a mess. It had everything from “write blog post” to “buy cat food” to “clean the bathroom”. It was overwhelming, to say the least.

What is 135 Divided by 2? (Elementary Math for Everyone!)

Making the “135 / 2” List

So, I grabbed a fresh sheet of paper and started sorting. Here’s what I came up with:

  • 1 Big Thing: Finish editing that video project. It’s been dragging on for ages.
  • 3 Medium Things:
    • Reply to client emails.
    • Schedule social media posts for the week.
    • Research new blog post ideas.
  • 5 Little Things:
    • Pay bills.
    • Order groceries online.
    • Do a quick tidy-up of my desk.
    • Take out the trash.
    • Reply to personal messages.

The “/2” Part

I’ve tried to get used to using two computers or computer and iPad to try to improve efficiency, I’m not sure I’ve really improved much in efficiency, but that’s what “/2” stands for here.

Putting It into Action

I started with the big one – the video editing. It was tough to focus at first, but knowing it was my only big task for the day helped. I pushed through and actually finished it! It felt amazing to cross that off.

Then, I moved on to the medium tasks. Having only three made it feel manageable. I got through the emails and social media scheduling pretty quickly. The blog post research took a bit longer, but I still got it done.

Finally, I tackled the little things. These were super easy to knock out, and each one gave me a little boost of satisfaction.

The Verdict

Honestly, I’m surprised how well this worked. My day felt way more organized and productive than usual. I didn’t feel that scattered, overwhelmed feeling I usually get. I actually got stuff done! I think the key was limiting the number of tasks in each category. It made everything feel less daunting.

I’m definitely going to keep trying this “135 / 2” method. It might need some tweaking, but it’s a solid starting point for getting my chaotic life a little more under control.
