So, I had this idea to boost our event’s visibility, and I thought, why not give away some tickets? It seemed like a simple enough plan, and I was pretty pumped to see how it would all unfold.
First, I made a list of all the places where we could possibly give tickets away. You know, spread the word far and wide. I came up with a bunch of ideas, like local community centers, those online forums, and even some charities that could auction them off. I figured this way, we’d not only get our name out there but also maybe do a little good on the side.
Then, I started reaching out. I sent emails, made some calls, and filled out online forms—whatever it took to get in touch with these places. I tried to keep my messages short and sweet, explaining what we were doing and why we thought it would be cool for them to be a part of it.

- Contacted local community centers.
- Posted on several online forums.
- Reached out to charities for silent auctions.
The next step was figuring out how to actually run the giveaway. I mean, you can’t just throw tickets out there and hope for the best. So, I spent some time thinking about the rules. I wanted it to be something easy for people to participate in but also something that would get them talking about our event. I decided on a simple social media contest where folks had to share our post and tag a few friends. Easy peasy.
Once everything was set up, I launched the giveaway. I posted about it everywhere, sent out an email blast to our subscribers, and even got a few friends to spread the word. And then, we waited.
At first, it was a bit slow. A few shares here, a couple of tags there. But then, things started to pick up. More and more people were joining in, and our event was getting mentioned all over the place. It was pretty cool to see it all happening in real-time.

In the end, the giveaway was a big win. We got way more attention than I initially expected, and our event ended up being packed. Plus, we made some great connections with local organizations and got a bunch of new followers on social media. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it.
Would I do it again? Heck yeah! It was a fun way to get the word out and it definitely paid off. It taught me that sometimes, a little generosity can go a long way in getting people excited about what you’re doing.
