Okay, so I saw these super cute Barbie sneakers online and I just had to try and make a pair myself. I mean, who doesn’t love Barbie, right? And pink sneakers? Yes, please!
Getting Started
First things first, I needed some plain white sneakers. Nothing fancy, just basic canvas ones I could easily, you know, mess around with.
- Find plain white sneakers: I went to the place I can find most things.
- Make sure it is my size: I tried these on,I don’t wanna get stuck with shoes that don’t fit!
The Fun Part: Barbie-fying!
Next step get all the Barbie stuff.I Grabbed some bright pink fabric paint, and I’m sure regular acrylic paint would work too.I Got my hands on some glitter, because, duh, everything’s better with glitter!
I started by painting the shoes. I wanted a really vibrant pink, so I did a couple of coats, making sure to let each coat dry completely before adding the next. Patience is key… which, honestly, is not my strong suit, but I tried!
Once the pink was totally dry, it was glitter time! I mixed some of the glitter with a bit of fabric glue, and carefully applied it to parts of the shoes. I went for the sides and the toe area, making sure every part I want sparkle is covered by glitter.
Finishing Touches
After everything dried (again, with the patience!),I’m so excited to try my DIY barbie sneaker on!
It’s so great! And there you have it – my very own, totally fabulous Barbie sneakers! They’re not perfect, of course, a little messy around the edges, but that’s part of the charm, right? I’m pretty proud of how they turned out, and I can’t wait to wear them everywhere! I might even make another pair, maybe with different colors or designs… the possibilities are endless!
