Okay, so I was messing around with the New York Times games, and I got hooked on this “Total Superstar” thing. It’s kinda silly, but also weirdly addictive. Here’s how it went down.
Getting Started
First, I just stumbled upon it. I think I was doing the crossword or something, and I saw the “Total Superstar” thing on the side. I was like, “What the heck is this?” So I clicked on it.
Figuring it Out
It’s pretty simple, really. You get a grid, and you gotta fill in the squares with letters to make words, both across and down. It’s like a mini-crossword, but all the words are connected, and you get some of letter at the start.

I started by just trying to fill in any words I could see. I found a few three-letter ones, and that gave me a starting point.
Building Up the Words
Once I had a couple of words, I tried to build off of them. I looked for letters that could go at the beginning or end of the words I already had. I would look up and down and see what letters made the most sense.
- Sometimes I’d get stuck. That’s when I’d just try different letters in different spots, just to see what would happen.
- Other times, I’d see a word right away, and I’d be like, “Oh, duh!” It’s funny how the brain works.
That “Aha!” Moment
There was this one time, I was totally stumped. I had like half the grid filled in, but I couldn’t figure out the rest. So I just kept staring at it. And then, BAM! I saw it. This one long word that connected everything. I felt like a genius, I’m not gonna lie.
Finishing It Up
Once I got that long word, the rest was pretty easy. I just filled in the remaining squares, and boom, I was done. It’s pretty satisfying to see the whole grid filled in.
The Total Superstar Reveal
After you finish, they tell you if you’re a “Total Superstar” or not. The First time,I wasn’t * I tried * I made *’s all about how many puzzles you do. It’s kinda silly, but it’s a fun little ego boost, I guess.

Anyway, that’s my “Total Superstar” story. It’s a fun little game, nothing too serious. If you’re bored and looking for something to do, give it a try. You might surprise yourself!
