Alright, so the other day I was setting up my fantasy soccer team, and I ran into this whole thing about squad limits. I was like, “Wait, how many players can I actually have on game day?” I figured it couldn’t be that complicated, but boy, was I in for a surprise.
First, I jumped onto the league’s website. I figured the rules would be right there, clear as day. Nope. I clicked around, scrolled through endless pages of terms and conditions, and still nothing concrete about game day squad sizes. It was all about season-long rosters, transfers, and whatnot, but not what I needed.
My Confusing Research Begins
Next, I hit up some soccer forums. You know, the places where the “experts” hang out. Let me tell you, it was a mess. One guy said 18 players, another swore it was 20, and someone else chimed in with some obscure rule about “homegrown” players affecting the limit. I was more confused than when I started!

I even tried watching some YouTube videos, hoping to see some manager setting up his team and explaining it. Mostly, it was just highlight reels and people yelling about tactics. Entertaining, but not helpful for my squad size dilemma.
I started getting different opinions from various places.I felt annoyed.
Figuring It Out (Finally!)
Then, I remembered a friend who actually plays in a semi-pro league. I shot him a text, and bam! He knew the answer. Apparently, for most leagues, the game day squad limit is 18 players. That includes your starting 11 and 7 substitutes.
He also explained that some competitions, like major tournaments, might allow slightly larger squads, like 23 players. But for your average league match, 18 is the magic number.
So, I finally got my answer. It took way longer than it should have, but hey, now I know. And I can confidently set up my fantasy team without worrying about breaking some hidden rule.

This is my confusing experience.I hope it can help you.
