Okay, so I saw this “Reese’s Happy Birthday” thing trending, and I just had to try it. I’m a sucker for anything peanut butter and chocolate, you know?
First, I gathered all my stuff. Obviously, I needed Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – the big ones, not the miniatures! Then, birthday candles, because, duh, it’s a “birthday” thing. And finally, a lighter. Pretty simple, right?
The Process
- Step 1: I unwrapped a glorious, perfect Reese’s cup. This is the hardest part, honestly, because I just wanted to eat it right then and there.
- Step 2: I stuck a birthday candle right in the middle of the cup. It went in pretty easily, the chocolate was soft enough.
- Step 3: Time for the magic! I lit the candle. It looked so cute, a tiny little flame on top of a mountain of peanut butter and chocolate goodness.
- Step4: I do a birthday song for it.
I made a wish (for more Reese’s, naturally) and blew out the candle. Then, the best part: I ate it! The warm, slightly melted chocolate around the candle was amazing. It was like a mini, personal-sized Reese’s lava cake.

Seriously, it was so simple, but so good. It’s a fun little way to celebrate, well, anything! Or nothing at all. Just an excuse to eat a Reese’s, which is always a good enough reason for me.
