Alright folks, lemme tell you about my deep dive into Rick Shiels’ clothing line. I’ve been following Rick for ages, loving his golf tips and reviews, so when I heard about his clothing, I was naturally curious.
First things first, I hit up the internet and started digging. I wanted to see what the range was all about – what styles, what fabrics, and most importantly, what kind of performance I could expect out on the course. I spent a good hour just browsing through different online stores and reading up on customer reviews. Some were raving about the fit and comfort, while others were a bit more critical about the price point. Gotta do your research, right?
Next, I decided I needed to get my hands on something, so I ordered a couple of items: a polo shirt and a pair of shorts. I went for classic colors – navy and grey – so I could easily mix and match them with my existing golf wardrobe. Ordering online is always a gamble with sizing, but I carefully checked the size charts and hoped for the best.
A few days later, the package arrived. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. My initial impression? The fabric felt really nice – soft and breathable. The polo shirt had a good weight to it, not too flimsy, and the shorts seemed well-constructed. I tried them on straight away.
The fit was pretty spot on, thankfully. The polo was a nice athletic cut, not too baggy and not too tight. The shorts were comfortable and had a decent amount of stretch. I swung a golf club around in my living room to test out the range of motion (much to the amusement of my wife). So far, so good.
But the real test, of course, was taking them out on the course. I wore the polo and shorts for a round last weekend. It was a pretty warm day, so breathability was key. I have to say, the clothing performed really well. The fabric wicked away moisture, keeping me relatively cool and comfortable throughout the round. I didn’t feel restricted at all during my swing, and the shorts stayed in place without riding up. Bonus points for that!
The Verdict?
- Pros: Comfortable, breathable, good fit, stylish designs.
- Cons: The price is a bit higher than some other golf apparel brands, but the quality seems to justify it.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with my Rick Shiels clothing purchase. It’s definitely an investment, but if you’re looking for quality golf apparel that performs well and looks good, it’s worth considering.

Now, I’m already eyeing up some of their other pieces, like the waterproof jacket. Maybe for my next splurge…!
