Okay, so I’ve got a bunch of these wrestling belts, right? My kid’s obsessed. They’re cool, but they were just everywhere. Thrown on the floor, draped over chairs, you name it. I needed a way to get them organized, and honestly, I wanted to show them off a little, too. They are pretty neat.
I started looking around online, but most of the holders I saw were either super expensive or looked kinda cheap. I figured, “I can do this myself!” I’m not exactly a master craftsman, but I’m handy enough.
The Plan (Sort Of)
My first thought was wood. Seems sturdy, right? I even went to the hardware store and looked at some planks. I was thinking of a simple shelf-type thing, maybe with some pegs or hooks to hang the belts from.
- Wood: Seemed like a good, solid option.
- Pegs/Hooks: Figured these would be easy to attach and hold the belts.
Then I started thinking about tools. I have a basic drill, but a saw? Not so much. And cutting perfectly straight lines? Yeah, that sounded like a recipe for disaster (and probably a crooked shelf).
The Change of Heart (and Materials)
So, I wandered around the store a bit more, feeling a little defeated. Then, I spotted these… wire shelving units! The kind you use in a closet or pantry. They were perfect! Strong, already assembled, and they had these built-in… well, I guess you’d call them “bars”? that the belts could easily loop over.
Putting It All Together (Super Easy!)
Seriously, this part was a breeze. I picked a spot on the wall in my kid’s room (making sure to find a stud, of course – don’t want the whole thing crashing down!). I used the drill and some heavy-duty screws to mount the wire shelving unit.
And that was it! I looped the belts over the bars, and bam! Instant display case, and way more organized than before. They hang down nicely, and you can actually see them now. My Kid loves it and now my floor free of belts!
The Final Result
Honestly, it looks way better than I expected. It’s simple, but it does the job perfectly. And the best part? It was way cheaper (and easier) than building something from scratch. I’m calling this a win!
