Okay, so I tried to recreate that Paddy Murphy’s menu. You know, the one that’s all over the internet? It looked like a fun challenge, and I thought, “Why not?”
First, I grabbed a bunch of images. I spent a good hour just scrolling through pictures of, like, beer, burgers, fries… you get the idea. I needed anything that screamed “Irish pub.” I saved a ton, figuring I’d rather have too many than not enough.
Getting Started with the Layout
Next, I opened up my trusty image editor. I’m no graphic designer, but I know my way around the basics. I started with a blank canvas, a nice, big one, so I’d have plenty of room to work with.

I picked a background image that looked like an old, wooden table. Kinda rustic, you know? Then I started layering. I placed the menu title at the top, “Paddy Murphy’s,” in a bold, slightly Celtic-looking font I found. It took a few tries to get the font just right, but I think I nailed it.
Adding the Menu Items
Then came the tricky part – adding all the menu items. I created a few different sections, like “Starters,” “Main Courses,” and “Drinks.” I wanted it to look organized, not just a jumble of food.
- For “Starters”, I added pictures of things like potato skins and onion rings.
- “Main Courses” got the burger, the fish and chips, maybe a shepherd’s pie.
- And “Drinks,” well, that was all about the beer, of course! Guinness, Harp, the whole gang.
I used some simple text boxes for the descriptions, keeping them short and sweet. “Classic cheeseburger with all the fixings,” that kind of thing. I played around with the font sizes and colors to make sure everything was easy to read.
Finishing Touches
Finally, I added a few extra touches, just to make it look a little more polished. I found a shamrock graphic and put it in a couple of corners. I added a slightly faded border, like the menu had been around for a while.
It took a few hours, and a lot of tweaking, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but it definitely looks like something you’d see at a pub. It was a fun little project, and I learned a few new things along the way. I might even try making menus for other fictional places, just for kicks!
