Okay, so the other day I was getting ready for a round of golf with my buddies, and I realized I was running low on balls. I usually just grab whatever’s cheapest at the local sports store, but this time I figured I’d try something different. I’d heard some chatter about these Nitro Crossfire golf balls, so I decided to give them a shot.
First thing I did was swing by the store. Found the Nitro section – pretty easy to spot with all the bright colors. The Crossfire ones were right there, and the price wasn’t too bad, so I grabbed a box.
Out on the Course
I’m no pro golfer, let’s just get that out of the way. My handicap is… well, let’s just say it’s high. But I do enjoy getting out there and whacking the ball around.

- First Tee: I teed up one of the Nitro Crossfires. Felt pretty standard in my hand, nothing weird about the weight or anything. Took my usual swing, and BAM! This thing went pretty straight, which for me, is a win. I tend to slice it to the right, but this one stayed pretty true.
- Fairway Shots: I used the Crossfires for the rest of the round. I noticed they felt pretty solid off the clubface. Not too hard, not too soft. Just a nice, clean thwack when I connected.
- Distance:I can’t say it went further than my usual balls, but I didn’t notice that I had any loss in distance.
- Around the Greens: This is where I usually struggle. My short game is… a work in progress. I didn’t magically become a chipping wizard with these balls, but they felt responsive enough. I could get a decent amount of spin when I needed it.
The Aftermath
So, after 18 holes, how did the Nitro Crossfires hold up?
Pretty darn good, actually! I only lost a couple, and that was more due to my bad shots than the balls themselves. The ones I did finish with still looked to be in decent shape. No major scuffs or cuts.
The dimple design seems pretty standard, nothing too fancy, but it got the job done.
Overall, I’d say these Nitro Crossfire balls are a solid choice, especially for the price. They’re not going to revolutionize your game, but they’re reliable, they feel good, and they won’t break the bank. If you’re looking for a decent, everyday golf ball, I’d definitely recommend giving these a try.I’ll probably pick up another box for my next round.
