Okay, so I wanted to keep better track of NFL draft prospects who transferred, especially when they made their announcements. It’s always a bit of a scramble to remember who went where and when, so I figured I’d build a simple system to log this.
First, I grabbed a pen and a notebook – yeah, I’m old school sometimes. I started jotting down the names of players I knew had transferred. Just off the top of my head, I wrote down a few big names I’d seen on Twitter and sports news sites.
Then, I opened up Google. I simply typed in things like “college football transfers 2024” and “NFL draft prospects who transferred.” This gave me a bunch of articles and lists to work from.

- I scanned through those articles, picking out names I recognized and adding them to my notebook.
- For each player, I tried to find the date they announced their transfer. Sometimes this was easy, sometimes it was buried in an old tweet or news report.
- I also noted the school they transferred from and the school they transferred to. This is the key info, obviously!
After a while, my notebook started looking pretty messy, so I decided to move everything to a spreadsheet. I used Google Sheets because it’s free and easy. I created columns for:
- Player Name
- Transfer From
- Transfer To
- Announcement Date
- Any additional Notes I had found, for example if they were a graduate transfer.
I spent a good chunk of time just copying and pasting the info from my notebook into the spreadsheet. It wasn’t glamorous, but it got the job done. It’s way easier to read and sort now.
Keeping It Updated
Now, whenever I see a transfer announcement, I immediately add it to the spreadsheet. I mostly rely on Twitter and a few sports websites I check regularly. It’s become a bit of a habit, and it only takes a few seconds each time.
This whole thing might seem a little basic, but it’s really helped me stay organized. Now, when draft season rolls around, I’m not scrambling to remember who transferred where. I’ve got all the info right there at my fingertips! I find that doing it this way also helps me learn and memorize the information quicker.
