Okay, so today I wanted to see if I could stick to a super specific schedule. The goal? Work on a project and wrap it up neatly by 1:40 PM. Sounds simple, right? Well, let’s see how it went.
Getting Started
First thing’s first, I grabbed a cup of coffee. Gotta have that fuel! Then, I sat down at my desk, opened up my laptop, and stared at the screen for a good five minutes. You know, the usual morning routine of trying to remember what I was even supposed to be doing.
Once I got my brain in gear, I opened the project file and looked at my to-do list. I had a bunch of small tasks left, nothing too major, but they all needed to get done.

The Work
- Checked emails: Cleared out the inbox. Always a good way to start, gets rid of distractions.
- Tackled the first task: It was some minor coding. Took about 30 minutes, mostly because I kept getting sidetracked by, well, you know, the internet.
- Second task: This one was a bit trickier. Involved some debugging, which is always a pain. But, I powered through, and after about an hour, I finally squashed that bug!
- Coffee break!: My mug was empty, need I say more?
- Final tasks: Just some polishing up, making sure everything looked good and worked properly. Pretty smooth sailing at this point.
Hitting the Deadline
I kept glancing at the clock. 1:20 PM… 1:30 PM… Time was ticking! I pushed myself to finish up the last few bits and pieces. Saved the file, ran a final check, and… done!
I looked at the clock again: 1:38 PM. Boom! Made it just under the wire. It was a bit of a rush, to be honest, but hey, I did it. Setting that specific time really helped me focus, I think. Normally, I’d probably have stretched this out all day, getting distracted by a million other things.
So, yeah, that’s how my little experiment with a 1:40 PM deadline went. Surprisingly effective! Might try this again sometime.
