Okay, so this week I decided to jump into the “flowers olave week 5” thing. I’d seen some cool stuff about it online, and I figured, why not give it a shot? It’s all about arranging flowers, which honestly, I’ve never really done before. But I’m always up for trying something new, and hey, maybe I’d discover a hidden talent, right?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed some flowers. I went to the local grocery store, nothing fancy, and just grabbed a few bunches of whatever looked colorful and, well, like they wouldn’t die immediately. I also picked up some floral foam – that green spongy stuff – because I saw someone online using it. I figured it would help keep the flowers in place.
The Messy Part
Back home, I cleared off my kitchen table and laid out all my supplies. I filled a big bowl with water, following some instructions to help with keeping the flowers better. Then, I started cutting the stems of the flowers at an angle – apparently, that helps them drink water better. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a mess. Water got everywhere, leaves were falling off, and I definitely poked myself with a thorn or two.

Then came the floral foam. I soaked it in the water until it was good and heavy. I had no clue about the process. After that, I started sticking the flowers into the foam. No real plan, just kinda going for it. Some flowers were too tall, some were too short. Some wouldn’t stay put, and others just looked…weird.
Trial and Error(Lots of Error)
I spent a good hour just messing around, pulling flowers out, sticking them back in, rearranging everything a million times. Honestly, it was pretty frustrating at first. I definitely didn’t have a natural knack for this. The pictures I’d seen online looked so elegant and professional, and mine looked like, well, a five-year-old’s art project.
But, I kept at it. I started to get a feel for which flowers looked good together, and how to balance the colors and shapes. I realized that shorter flowers worked better around the edges, and taller ones could go in the middle. Slowly, very slowly, it started to look a little less like a disaster.
The (Somewhat) Finished Product
After what felt like forever, I finally had something that I didn’t totally hate. It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot. But it was colorful, and it definitely looked like I’d tried. The floral foam helped, but maybe I cut it wrong, still some problem, but overall it is much better!
I took the pictures to * next time I get some better flowers, and get other tools, I am sure I can make it better!

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was definitely a learning experience, and it was kind of fun once I got past the initial frustration. Plus, it’s always good to try new things, even if you’re not very good at them. Who knows, maybe with a little more practice, I’ll actually get the hang of this flower arranging thing. We’ll see!
