Okay, so today I wanted to make a men’s bathroom sign. Nothing fancy, just something clear and easy to understand. I’ve seen some pretty confusing signs out there, so I wanted to keep it simple.
Brainstorming and Sketching
First, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil. I started by sketching out a few basic ideas. I thought about the classic stick figure, but I also played around with a simple outline of a man. I wanted to make sure it was instantly recognizable, even from a distance.
- Basic stick figure
- Outline of a man
- just word “MEN”
Choosing the Design
After i finished,i have choosed to use the outline of a man.

Creating the Design
I decided to use some scrap wood I had lying around. I measured and cut a rectangular piece, making sure it was big enough to be seen, but not too huge. Then, I sanded down the edges to make them * i have choosed the Outline,so i started to draw it on the wood.
Painting and Finishing
I find the black paint and painted my design onto the wood. I applied a couple of coats to make sure it was nice and solid.
The Final Result
And that’s it! A super simple, but hopefully effective, men’s bathroom sign. It’s not going to win any design awards, but it gets the job done. Sometimes, simple is best, right? I think it turned out pretty well, and it was a fun little project to do.
