So, the other day I was browsing some comics, and I stumbled upon this one called “looking at stars meaningless”. It got me thinking, what if I actually tried to make some comics about stars? Sounds fun, right? And I like to do stuff like this.
I started by sketching out some ideas. Just some simple stick figures at first. I mean, I’m no artist, but I can draw a circle and some lines. And then I tried to make a little story in the comic. Something about a guy looking at the stars and wondering about them. Just like the comic, but I can’t draw too well, it is hard. I tried to make it funny, but I’m not sure if it turned out that way. Maybe it’s just me. And I can say that I spent most of the time trying to draw these damn stick figures.
Next, I tried to make the comic a bit more detailed. I used a pen instead of a pencil this time, so it’s a bit more permanent. I added some background details, like a night sky with a bunch of stars. Drawing stars is kinda tricky, you know? They’re just little dots, but getting them to look right is a whole thing. It is so hard to draw. It takes time, you know? It is not something that can be done in a second. Just dots, dots and dots.
- First step, draw a guy.
- Second step, draw some stars.
- Third step, make them talk.
After I was kinda happy with the drawings, I added some speech bubbles. This is where the “meaningless” part comes in, I guess. I made the character say some silly things about the stars, like wondering if they’re just holes in the sky. Maybe not the deepest thoughts, but hey, it’s a comic. This part is actually easy, because you just need to write some silly things, right?
Finally, I showed the comic to my friend. She laughed, so I guess that’s a good sign. But she also said it was kinda weird. I’ll take it. Art is subjective, right? I mean, it’s not a masterpiece or anything, but it was a fun little project. And who knows, maybe I’ll make more comics in the future. I don’t know. Maybe, I’ll do something related to stars.
Things I learned:
- Drawing is harder than it looks.
- Stars are just a bunch of dots.
- Comics can be about anything. Even if it’s kinda dumb.
