My Trip to the Clark Football Game – September 6th, 2024
Alright, so let me tell you what went down on Friday, September 6th. I decided pretty last minute to head over to the Clark football game. Heard some buzz, figured why not, catch some local action.
First thing, had to actually get ready. Just threw on some comfortable clothes, nothing fancy. Checked the weather, looked like it might cool off later, so I grabbed a light jacket. Always pays to be prepared, you know?
Then came the drive over. Traffic wasn’t too bad heading towards the stadium, surprisingly. Finding parking, though? That was the usual challenge. Drove around for a good 10 minutes, finally snagged a spot a few blocks away. A bit of a walk, but hey, exercise.

Got to the gate, paid for my ticket, and walked in. You could feel that Friday night lights vibe right away. Found some empty space up on the bleachers, not too high, not too low. Good view of the field.
The Game Itself
Watched the teams warm up for a bit. Lots of energy from the players, you could tell they were ready. The crowd started filling in more. Lots of students, parents, the usual mix.
The game kicked off right on time. First quarter was kinda slow, lots of back and forth, neither team really getting much momentum. A few good runs, a couple of incomplete passes. Standard stuff.
Things picked up in the second quarter. Clark managed to put together a solid drive. Couple of strong runs up the middle, then a nice pass got them into the end zone. Touchdown! The home crowd went wild, lots of cheering. That was pretty cool to see.

- The band played during breaks, always adds to the atmosphere.
- Saw a couple of fumbles, one by each team I think. Kept things interesting.
- Defense on both sides had some good moments, sacks and tackles for loss.
Halftime came around. The band did their thing on the field. Grabbed a hot dog and a drink from the concession stand. Prices weren’t too crazy, which was nice.
Second half started. More of the same, really. A hard-fought game. Clark seemed to have the edge, but the other team kept fighting back. It wasn’t a blowout by any means. Stayed pretty close.
Heading Out
Honestly, I didn’t stay right until the final whistle. Sometime in the fourth quarter, with maybe 5 minutes left, I decided to head out. Wanted to beat the mad rush getting out of the parking lots. You know how that goes.
Walking back to the car, I could still hear the crowd noise and the announcer. Sounded like Clark was probably going to win, but you never know.

Overall, it was a decent evening. Just a typical high school football game experience. Saw some good plays, felt the community spirit. Nothing earth-shattering happened, just a solid Friday night out watching some football. Glad I went.
