Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of hype around the new Icon 2025 baseball bats, and I figured I’d give one a try. I’m no pro, but I play in a weekend league and always looking to improve my hitting.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to actually get my hands on one. I checked out a few local sporting goods stores, but no luck. Ended up ordering one online. It took a bit longer to arrive than I hoped, but hey, that’s life.
First Impressions
- Unboxing: It looked pretty sweet, I gotta admit. Nice design, felt solid.
- Weight: I went for the -3 drop, which felt pretty good in my hands. Not too heavy, not too light. Just that Goldilocks feel.
- Grip: The grip felt comfortable. I’ve had bats before where the grip tape felt cheap, but this one was decent.
Taking Some Swings
I headed over to the batting cages to give it a proper test run. I always start with some light swings, just to get a feel for it.

I started off with some soft toss, just to get a feel for the bat. After about 10 swings, I was starting to get comfortable. The ball really seemed to jump off the barrel.
Then, I cranked up the machine to a faster speed. That’s where I really noticed a difference. I was connecting more consistently, and the ball was traveling further. It felt, for a lack of better word, powerfull.
The Verdict (So Far)
I’ve only used it for a few sessions, but I’m definitely liking the Icon 2025 so far. My hits feel more solid, and I feel like I’m getting more power behind the ball. I’m curious to see how it holds up over time, but my initial impression is pretty positive. We’ll see how it performs when I actually get it out on the field in a real game situation. But, from my batting cage trials, it feels like a definite upgrade!
