Yesterday, I felt like doing something fun, so I decided to dive into the world of NieR: Automata again. I wanted to give my favorite character, 2B, a little twist and started messing around with a mod menu called 2B Hook.
Installation Shenanigans
First things first, I had to get this mod menu up and running. It wasn’t too difficult, but it did take a bit of time. I found a version compatible with the game’s latest update and followed the instructions to install it.
- Download: Got the 2B Hook files from a modding site I trust.
- Extract: Unzipped the files into a new folder.
- Copy: Moved the contents of the folder into my NieR: Automata installation directory.
- Launch: Started the game, and boom, the menu was there.
Playing Around with Features
Once the menu was active, I started experimenting with the different options. The “Godmode” feature was pretty hilarious. I could just stand there and let enemies wail on me without taking any damage. It felt kind of silly, but it was fun to see 2B as an invincible force.
There were other features too, like changing her outfit, which was cool. I switched between a few different looks just for kicks. The menu also had options to adjust the camera and some other gameplay settings, but I didn’t mess with those too much.
Trying Out “Walk Out Song”
Now, here’s the part that inspired the title. I discovered a fun little feature in the 2B Hook menu that let me change the music that plays when 2B enters a new area. You know, her “walk out song,” like a wrestler entering the ring.
I cycled through a bunch of different tracks from the game’s soundtrack and even tried adding some custom music files. It was pretty awesome to see 2B strutting into battle with a totally different vibe. I ended up settling on a really intense track that made every encounter feel epic.
Reflections
After a few hours of playing around, I have to say, it was a blast. Mods can really change the way you experience a game, and 2B Hook was no exception. It was fun to see a different side of NieR: Automata and customize 2B to my liking.
I know some people prefer to play games without mods, and that’s totally cool. But for me, it’s a way to keep things fresh and have a little fun with a game I already love. Plus, who doesn’t want to see 2B walking into battle with her own personal theme song?
