Okay, so the other day, I was trying to figure out how tall something was in feet, but the only measurement I had was in meters. Specifically, it was 1.79 meters. I’m not the best at math, so I wanted to find an easy way to convert it.

First, I looked up online what the conversion factor is for meters to feet. Turns out, 1 meter is roughly 3.28 feet. I know that it’s a little more than 3.28, but I thought, “Hey, that’s a good enough estimate for what I need.”

Find Conversion Factor

  • 1 meter = 3.28 feet (approximately)

Then, I figured I just needed to multiply the number of meters by that conversion factor. So, I grabbed my phone’s calculator and punched in 1.79 times 3.28.

How to Convert 1.79 Meters to Feet: A Simple Guide for Quick Conversions!

Multiply by the Conversion Factor

1.79 x 3.28 = 5.8712

Boom! The calculator spat out 5.8712. So, 1.79 meters is about 5.87 feet. That wasn’t so hard after all. I actually did this a few times with different meter measurements, and it’s pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Just remember that one meter is a little over three and a quarter feet, and you’re golden.

I even tried using a more accurate conversion factor I found which was 3.280839895, and I did the calculation like this: 1.79 multiplied by 3.280839895, I got something like 5.8727034121, I think that is 5.87 feet when rounded. It seems that the result is similar.

It might not be the most exciting thing in the world, but I felt pretty good about figuring it out. Maybe this will help someone else who’s stuck trying to convert meters to feet!
