Alright, so, I’ve been keeping an eye on the Atlanta Hawks lately, right? They’re sitting at .500 through 44 games, which, you know, isn’t too shabby. It’s actually their best start in the last four seasons. And with the trade deadline just around the corner, I started digging into some of the trade rumors and mock trades out there.
I stumbled upon this one mock trade from Bleacher Report that really got me thinking. They proposed a deal with the Spurs that sends Siakam to Atlanta. Yeah, you heard that right. In return, the Hawks give up Reggie Bullock. I mean, it’s just a mock trade, but it’s fun to think about.
The Hawks have been a bit of a surprise this season, holding onto that No. 7 seed in the East. They’ve been in a bunch of trade rumors, not just this one. There are tons of speculations leading up to the NBA Draft on June 23. So, I decided to look into a few different potential moves they could make.

Here’s what I did:
- Dived into trade rumors: I started by just browsing through all the Hawks trade rumors I could find. It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but you know, it’s fun, I went through a lot of articles and some of them are pretty interesting.
- Checked out mock trades: Then, I looked at a bunch of these mock trades, like the one from Bleacher Report, to see what people are thinking. I even read this one where they list out Lu Dort and Dorian Finney-Smith as some of the “top” targets for every team. And there are also many other mock trades, such as some invloving the Bucks, which has been included in their fair share of mock trades, looking for shooting and defense.
- Explored potential moves: After that, I started brainstorming some possible trades the Hawks could actually make, considering their current roster, their needs, and who might be available. It’s like playing GM, but without the actual power to make trades, haha.
- Documented everything: I took notes on all of this, just jotting down my thoughts and the different scenarios I came up with. I don’t know if any of these trades will actually happen, but it’s interesting to think about the possibilities.
This whole process was a bit of a rabbit hole, to be honest. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I had spent hours just researching and thinking about the Hawks’ trade options. It’s a bit nerdy, I know, but I find this stuff fascinating.
In the end, I didn’t come up with any groundbreaking trade ideas or anything. But it was a fun exercise, and it got me even more excited for the trade deadline. Who knows what will actually happen? We’ll just have to wait and see.
