Okay, so I saw this headline about Pocono Raceway tearing down their victory lane, and I was like, “No way, I gotta see this.” I’ve always thought victory lane was a pretty iconic part of any racetrack, so I was curious about what was going on.
First, I jumped onto my computer and started digging around. I wanted to know why they were doing this. Turns out, they’re making some big changes to the track, reconfiguring things, and the old victory lane just didn’t fit the new plan.
Then I scrolled through a bunch of articles and social media posts. It was pretty wild to see photos of the demolition. Heavy machinery just ripping apart this structure that’s seen so many celebrations over the years. There were pictures of backhoes and bulldozers, and you could really see the whole thing coming down piece by piece.

I watched some videos too. The sound of metal crunching and concrete breaking…it was kind of intense! It really made me think about all the history there, all the drivers who sprayed champagne and hoisted trophies in that spot.
- Found photos of demolition.
- Checked track’s website to confirm.
- Watched time-lapse demolition.
After seeing all that, I started to understand the bigger picture. Pocono is trying to make the track more exciting, more competitive, and part of that is changing the layout. It made me respect the decision, even if it meant losing a familiar landmark.
Finally I confirmed Pocono will build a new victory lane.
I guess it’s like they say, out with the old, in with the new! Still, it was pretty cool to see the whole process unfold, even if it was just through pictures and videos online.
