Okay, so I’ve been getting into collecting baseball cards lately, and I decided to try and snag a Gerrit Cole rookie card. It’s like, the card to get if you’re a Yankees fan, or just a fan of awesome pitchers, you know?
First, I hit up a few local card shops. I figured I’d start there, maybe get lucky and find one in good condition for a decent price. I went to like three different places. The first one didn’t even have any baseball cards – total bust. The second place had some, but no Gerrit Cole rookies. The third place… well, they had one, but it looked like it had been through a war. Seriously, the corners were all bent, and there was a huge crease right down the middle. No way I was paying for that.
So, the local shops were a no-go. Next step, I decided to check out online. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing, seeing what was out there, and getting a feel for the prices.

I looked and compared prices. And wow, the prices are all over the place! Some are super cheap, some are crazy expensive. It really depends on the condition, the grading (if it’s been professionally graded), and I guess, just how much the seller thinks it’s worth. Finding a fair price, with pictures that show the card clear enough and a seller that has a good review is important.
After what felt like forever,I finally found one!
So I won it. Paid for it.
I waited. It took, like, five days to arrive, which felt like an eternity. But when it finally showed up, it was awesome. I carefully opened the package, and there it was – a Gerrit Cole rookie card, in pretty darn good condition! It was worth a try!
