So, I’ve been trying to get a handle on this whole “Formula One newsletter” thing. It sounded cool, like a way to stay on top of all the F1 races and drama, but figuring out how to actually set one up was… well, let’s just say it was a process.
First Steps (A Lot of Guesswork)
I started by, you know, just Googling stuff. “Formula One newsletter,” “F1 email updates,” that kind of thing. I figured there’d be some obvious services popping up, but it wasn’t quite that simple. I got a bunch of articles about F1 newsletters, but not a ton of clear “do this” instructions. Lots of reading, less action.
Digging Deeper (More Googling)
After some more digging, I realized I needed to be more specific. I started looking into things like “email marketing platforms” and “newsletter tools.” This is where names like “Mailchimp,” and “Substack,” and a few others started coming up. Okay, progress! Each one seemed to have its own way of doing things, its own pricing, and its own set of confusing features.

Choosing a Tool (Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe)
Honestly, I felt a bit overwhelmed. I ended up picking one that looked simple enough. The free plan seemed decent, so I figured I’d start there and see how it goes. Creating an account was easy enough, just the usual email, password, that sort of deal.
Setting Up the Basics (Finally, Some Action!)
Once I was logged in, it was time to actually make the newsletter. I had to figure out:
- A name: I went with something pretty basic, like “My F1 Weekly.” Nothing fancy.
- A template: They had some pre-designed ones, which was a lifesaver. I’m no designer.
- Content: This is the hard part. I mean, I know about F1, but writing it down in a way that’s, you know, interesting? That’s a whole different skill.
The First Newsletter (A Bit of a Mess)
My first attempt was…rough. I copied and pasted some news headlines, added a few of my own thoughts, and hoped for the best. I even tried to find some cool pictures to include. Sending it out was surprisingly nerve-wracking. Did it look okay? Would people even open it? Would I instantly become a famous F1 blogger?! (Spoiler: no.)
Learning as I Go
Since then, I’ve been trying to learn how to be better. I’ve noticed that it needs these points.

- Consistency: Trying to send it out at roughly the same time each week.
- Keeping it short: People don’t want to read a novel.
- Making it my own: Adding my own opinions and, jokes, so it’s not just a copy-paste job.
It’s definitely still a work in progress. I’m learning as I go, figuring out what works and what doesn’t. It’s kind of fun, though, seeing how many people open it each week and even getting a few replies. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually be good at this!
