Okay, so today I was staring at the newspaper, right? And there’s this crossword puzzle that I always try to tackle. Keeps the brain ticking, you know? Anyway, the clue today was “foul tempers,” and my mind just went completely blank.
So, first thing I did was grab my phone and start Googling. I typed in “foul tempers crossword clue” and, bam, a whole bunch of websites popped up. Most of them were these crossword solver sites, which are pretty handy.
I started clicking through a few of them. One site said the answer was “IRE”. That seemed a little short, only three letters. I scrolled down, and there were a whole list of other words. I saw 40 answers in the database. That is crazy.

Check The Answer
- And I found that this clue has shown up like 15 times in the New York Times Mini Crossword.
- Another site suggested “SNITS”, which is five letters long. That felt more likely.
I kept looking, just to be sure. I mean, you don’t want to write down the wrong answer and mess up the whole puzzle. Another page mentioned that “foul tempers” was a “quick one” in the puzzle, which, yeah, it should be, but my brain was just not cooperating.
Finally, after checking a few more sources, I felt pretty confident that “SNITS” was the right answer. It fit the number of letters, and it seemed to be the most common answer across the different sites.
So I wrote it down, “S-N-I-T-S,” and it worked! Finished the whole row. Felt pretty good, not gonna lie. Crossword puzzles can be a real pain sometimes, but it’s satisfying when you finally crack them.
