Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of “formula technician” stuff. Honestly, I wasn’t even 100% sure what it all entailed, but I was curious, and figured, why not?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what I was even dealing with. What kinda tools do you even use? I’m no scientist, so I started with the basics. I grabbed a bunch of bowls and measuring spoons from the kitchen – gotta start somewhere, right?
Then I hit up the internet. I just typed in “easy formulas to mix” and hoped for the best. Found a couple of simple recipes for things like, um, bath bombs. Figured that was a safe starting point. Less chance of blowing something up, you know?

The Mixing Process
So, I printed out the “recipe” and started gathering the ingredients. Baking soda, citric acid… some essential oils I had lying around. It actually felt kinda like cooking, just… not for eating.
I carefully measured everything out. The instructions were pretty specific about the amounts, so I didn’t want to mess that up. Used my kitchen scale for the dry stuff, and those little measuring spoons for the liquids.
- First, I dumped all the dry ingredients into a big bowl.
- Then, I slowly added the wet stuff, mixing it with my hands as I went. It started to fizz a little, which was kinda cool.
- It said to keep mixing until it felt like “damp sand.” No idea what that meant, really, but I just kept going until it felt… right?
The Results (and a Few Mishaps)
Once it was all mixed, I packed it into these little molds I found online. Supposed to let them dry for a few hours. While I was waiting, I tried another “formula” I found – this one for a sugar scrub. Same basic process, just different ingredients. Sugar, oil, some more essential oils. Easy peasy.
The sugar scrub, came out prety good, felt nice.

But the bath bombs, not so much. After three hour,i went to check the bath bombs, some of them had kinda… expanded. Like, they overflowed the molds and looked all weird. Guess I added too much liquid? Or maybe I didn’t mix it well enough? Still not * a few of them looked okay, so I’m calling it a partial win.
It was a fun little experiment, even if some of it went sideways. I definitely learned a thing or two about mixing stuff, and now I have some homemade bath stuff. Maybe I’ll try some more “formulas” later. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get good at this!
