Okay, so today I decided to mess around with this “film wizards declaration” thing. I’d heard some buzz about it and, honestly, I was just curious. No fancy reason, just wanted to see what the fuss was about.
Getting Started
First, I had to find the declaration, I just used a search engine to find a copy. Once I found it, I copied the text.
Figuring It Out
So, the declaration itself? Kinda wordy, kinda formal. I read through it a couple of times, making sure I understood what was saying. It’s all about promising to be a good, creative filmmaker, respecting others, sharing knowledge, that kind of stuff. Pretty standard, really, but presented in a nice, official-sounding way.

I copied the whole thing into a simple text file on my computer. I saved it for now.
My Thoughts
- It’s a cool idea: Having a sort of “code of conduct” for filmmakers is neat. It sets a positive tone for the community.
- It’s a bit idealistic: Not everyone will follow it to the letter, but it’s a good aspiration.
- It’s personal: It’s up to each person to decide if they want to “sign” it (in spirit, at least) and what it means to them.
What I Did with it
Well, I “signed it”, I copied it into a text file.
So, that was my little adventure with the film wizards declaration. Not exactly earth-shattering, but a fun little exercise. It made me think about my own creative process and how I interact with other people in the field. And that’s never a bad thing, right?
