Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “Air Max MLB The Show” custom designs popping up all over my feed, and I finally decided to bite the bullet and try to make my own. It seemed like a fun little project, and I’ve always been a sucker for personalized gear.
First things first, I needed to actually get MLB The Show. I already had it for my Playstation, so no spending extra cash there. Lucky me! Then, I spent some time just playing the game, getting a feel for the customization options. I poked around in all the menus, looking at logos, colors, and all that good stuff. It’s pretty deep, actually, more than I expected.
Next up, I started brainstorming. What team did I want to represent? What kind of design was I going for? Classic? Modern? Something totally out there? I’m a huge Giants fan, so that part was easy. I knew I wanted to incorporate their classic orange and black, but I also wanted to throw in a little something extra. I was fiddling around, switching colors, and that’s how it started.

Then I jumped into the shoe editor itself. It’s a little clunky at first, but you get the hang of it. I picked the Air Max model, obviously, because it’s the main option for this custom. I messed around with different base colors, trying to find the perfect shade of orange. It took a while, but I finally found one that looked pretty close to the Giants’ actual colors.
The logo placement was the trickiest part. I wanted it to look clean, not too cluttered. The game offers many options for logo size and placement.
After a bunch of trial and error, I decided to put a small Giants logo on the heel and another one on the tongue. Seemed like the best balance.
Here’s a rough breakdown of what I did:

- Base Color: Mostly black, with orange accents on the swoosh, laces, and air bubble.
- Logos: Small Giants logo on the heel, and a slightly larger one on the tongue.
- Details: I added some white stitching to give it a little extra pop. Also, I played with the texture options to make it look a bit more…premium, I guess?
The Final Result
Honestly, I’m pretty stoked with how they turned out! They’re not perfect, but they definitely capture the Giants vibe I was going for. It’s cool to have a pair of virtual shoes that I designed myself. If anyone wants to try, I can share my final design in the MLB community, why not!
It was a fun way to spend an afternoon, and it’s got me thinking about other designs I could try. Maybe I’ll do a whole series of MLB team-inspired Air Maxes. Who knows! But for now, I’m just happy to rock my custom Giants kicks in the game. Go Giants!
