Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into fantasy football lately, and the name Devon Achane keeps popping up. I gotta figure out if this guy is worth a spot on my roster, so I’m starting my research process.
Getting to Know the Player
First things first, I gotta know who this guy even is. I started by hitting up some basic stats pages. You know, just to get the general overview.
- Checked out his college stats – see what kind of production he had at Texas A&M.
- Looked at his NFL combine results to get a sense of his athleticism. Speed, agility, all that jazz.
- Read some scouting reports to see what the “experts” were saying about his strengths and weaknesses.
Diving into the Dolphins Situation
Knowing the player is only half the battle. I gotta understand his situation with the Miami Dolphins. So, I dug into that:

- Examined the Dolphins’ running back depth chart. Who is he competing with for touches? Are there established veterans, or is the door open for a newcomer to shine?
- Researched the Dolphins’ offensive scheme. Do they run the ball a lot? Is it a system that favors a player with Achane’s skillset?
- Checked out some Dolphins beat reporters on social media. What are they saying about Achane’s role in training camp and preseason?
Analyzing the Fantasy Potential
Now for the important part – figuring out his actual fantasy value. Time to put it all together:
- His college stats are really good, he’s very productive!
- The combine numbers looked great, too. This dude is seriously fast.
- The Dolphins are pretty crowded at running back with Mostert and Wilson, Achane may not to get a lot of touches early on.
Making My Decision
Based on everything I’ve gathered I will add Devon Achane, he’s worth taking a shot at as a late-round pick or waiver-wire add. I might even try to trade for him if I can get a good price. Let the games begin!
