I figured, hey, I’m pretty good with wrestling history, but this one had me stumped. I mean, Watts is a legend, but the Indianapolis Warriors? That sounded like a deep cut, even for me.

I found a couple of mentions of a “Bill Watts” associated with football in Indianapolis, but they were clearly different people. One was a high school coach, another was a ref. My hopes were starting to dwindle. I even started to question if the “Indianapolis Warriors” was a real team! I mean, it sounds like something out of a video game, right?
The Conclusion (or Lack Thereof)
Honestly? After hours of searching, I’ve got nothing definitive. No evidence, no proof, and nothing to confirm that Cowboy Bill Watts ever laced up his boots for any team called the Indianapolis Warriors. But you know how these things go. There’s always that little voice in the back of your head saying, “Maybe I missed something…”
