So, Week 1 for Colorado football was buzzing, right? You couldn’t really ignore it. I figured I should check out what threads the team decided to roll with for the opener.
I remember kicking back, think it was maybe Thursday or Friday before the game, scrolling through stuff online. Wasn’t really looking for anything specific, just killing time. Then I saw some posts popping up showing the uniforms. It wasn’t like some big official announcement I saw first, more like pictures people were sharing.
Finding the Look
Took me a minute to piece it together. You see one picture here, another there. Finally found a clearer shot. Okay, so they went with the black jerseys and black pants. Classic look, really. Can’t go too wrong with that.

- Helmet: Gold. Standard, shiny gold helmet. Looks good.
- Jersey: Black. Had the gold numbers and letters. Pretty clean.
- Pants: Black again. Matched the jersey, obviously.
Honestly, it looked pretty sharp. Nothing too crazy, but solid. Sometimes teams try too hard, you know? This felt like a statement, but kinda understated. Like they were all business.
My Thoughts on It
I liked it. The all-black with the gold helmet just pops. It felt tough. You see that combo come out onto the field, it looks intimidating, I guess. Simple, strong.
It’s funny how much focus goes into uniforms these days. Back in the day, teams had like, two options. Home and away. That was it. Now it’s a whole production every week. I get it, gets the players hyped, gets the fans talking. But man, keeping track is a whole thing now.
Anyway, for Week 1, I thought the choice was good. Set a tone. Black and Gold. Looked clean under the lights. That’s my take after finally seeing what they put together for the start of the season.
