Okay, so today I wanted to dig into some football stats, specifically for the U.S. Lecce vs. Atalanta BC match. I’m no expert, but I find this stuff pretty interesting, and it’s always fun to see what the numbers say.
First, I needed to find a good source for the stats. I mean, there are tons of websites out there, but I wanted something reliable. I bounced around a few different sites, checking out their layouts and seeing if the data seemed up-to-date.
Once I found a site I liked, I started looking at the basic stuff. You know, things like possession, shots on target, total shots, and fouls. It’s always interesting to see how those numbers stack up between the two teams.

Then, I wanted to get a little more granular. I dove into things like pass completion rates, tackles won, and maybe even some aerial duels won. These details can sometimes tell a more complete story about how the game actually played out, rather than just the final score.
I also took at look previous matches between the two. seeing how things played out in earlier games, helps to understand how things are now.
After gathering all these stats,I put everyting into a simple note,
I organized everything, so I could easily compare the key metrics side-by-side.

It was a fun little exercise! I definitely learned a bit more about both teams and how they’ve been performing. And hey, maybe next time I watch a match, I’ll have a slightly better understanding of what’s going on, all thanks to these numbers. I’m thinking of doing this more often – it’s a cool way to engage with the sport on a different level.
