Okay, so I’ve been messing around with different guitar picks lately, trying to find something that really clicks with my playing style. I stumbled upon these “Jazz III” picks, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. Specifically, I grabbed a pack of the white, pointed ones.
Getting Started
First off, these things are tiny. I mean, seriously small compared to the standard picks I’m used to. My initial reaction was, “How am I even supposed to hold this thing?” I fumbled around with it for a while, trying to get a decent grip. It felt super awkward at first.
The Practice Grind
- Day 1: Total disaster. My picking was all over the place. I kept dropping the pick, and my accuracy went down the drain. I felt like a complete beginner again.
- Day 2: Started to get a little better. I focused on holding the pick closer to the tip, using just a tiny bit of the point to hit the strings. I did some slow, deliberate exercises, just trying to get a feel for the pick.
- Day 3: Things started clicking. I noticed I could get a much smoother, faster picking motion with this smaller pick. My alternate picking felt cleaner, and I could dig into the strings for a more aggressive sound when I needed to.
- Day 4: I set the practice of playing * can make the playing sound more coherent.I try to speed up the * is so cool!
The Results (So Far)
I’m still getting used to these Jazz III picks, but I’m starting to see the potential. They definitely force you to be more precise with your picking technique.

It’s like, with a bigger pick, you can get away with being a little sloppy. But with these tiny guys, you have to be right on the strings. It’s challenging, but I think it’s making me a better player in the long run. I’m digging the sharper, more defined tone I’m getting, especially for faster runs and solos.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with the Jazz III white pointed picks so far. It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride, but I’m sticking with it. I’ll keep you guys updated on my progress!
