Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do this project for a while, and today I finally got around to it. I’m a huge college football fan, and I’ve always loved the different helmet designs. So, I decided to try and collect a bunch of images of them.
First, I started by just Googling “college football helmets.” That gave me a ton of results, but it was kinda messy. Lots of different sizes, angles, and qualities. I needed a more focused approach.
So I decided to narrow it down. I picked a few of my favorite teams – let’s say Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson – and searched for their helmets specifically. Like, “Alabama Crimson Tide football helmet.” This was way better! I was getting more consistent results.

My Image Hunt
- I spent a good hour just browsing through the image results.
- I right-clicked and saved the ones I liked.
- It is important that I only selected images of the helmets, there are pictures of people wearing helmets, which are not what I want.
- I tried to find ones that were similar – like, mostly side views, good lighting, and decent resolution. Nothing too blurry or tiny.
After I had a good collection for those teams, I expanded my search. I added a few more teams, then a few more, until I had a pretty decent folder full of helmet pictures.
It wasn’t perfect, though. Some teams were harder to find good images for than others. Some had, like, five different helmet designs in the past few years, so I had to decide which ones to include. It was a whole thing.
But, overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I’ve got this cool collection of college football helmets now. I might even print them out and make a collage or something. Who knows! It was a fun little project, and it definitely satisfied my college football obsession for the day.
