Okay, so today I was trying to solve this crossword, and I got stuck on this one clue: “marsh bird”. I was like, “Marsh bird? What the heck is that?” I mean, I know some birds, but “marsh bird” is pretty general, right?
So, first, I brainstormed. I was thinking of all the birds I could remember. You know, like ducks, geese… but those didn’t seem to fit the crossword’s letter count. I think the clue I had was for a five-letter word.
Then, I tried plugging in some common bird names, just to see. You know, like ROBIN, but, nope, that didn’t work at all.

I was getting a little frustrated, so I decided to cheat a little. Yeah, I’ll admit it. I went online and searched for “marsh bird crossword clue”.
And guess what? The internet came to the rescue! I found a bunch of websites listing possible answers. It turns out there are tons of marsh birds!
- COOT (4 letters)
- CRANE(5 letters)
- EGRET(5 letters)
- SNIPE(5 letters)
- And a whole lot more!
I saw that one of the suggestions, “CRANE”, was a five-letter word. I popped that into the crossword, and bam! It fit perfectly! I felt so smart, even though I kinda cheated.
It turns out that were even longer answers to the clue,I mean, there are 23 solutions! Like, “WHITETHROAT,” which is, like, eleven letters. I was way off!
So, yeah, that’s how I figured out the “marsh bird” crossword clue. It was a bit of a journey, with some brainstorming, some guessing, and, well, a little bit of online help. But hey, I got it in the end!
