Okay, so I’ve been messing around with something kinda cool lately, and I figured I’d share the whole process with you guys. It’s all about the paint schemes for Joe Gibbs Racing in the 2023 Xfinity series. Yeah, I’m a bit of a racing nerd, but even if you’re not, I think you’ll find this interesting.
First off, I had to gather some info. I mean, you can’t just slap some colors on a car and call it a day, right? So, I started digging around to see what they were using last year and what was already announced for this year. It was a bit like a treasure hunt, but mostly just clicking around on different websites.
Finding The Base
- I started by looking up the basics. The standard colors, the usual sponsors, all that jazz. I found a few pics from the Nashville race, like the one with Ty Gibbs and the “He Gets Us” car. That gave me a good starting point.
Diving Deeper
Then, I wanted more. I found this site talking about something called “CWS Templates” from 2013. Sounded old, but I gave it a look anyway. Turns out, these templates are like blueprints for the car designs. It’s not exactly what I needed, but it was helpful to see how these things are put together.

Putting It All Together
- With all these bits and pieces of info, I started to get a clearer picture. I realized that these paint schemes are not just random. There’s a lot of thought and planning that goes into them. Each sponsor, each color, it all has to fit together in a way that looks good and makes sense for the team.
Making My Own
This is where it got fun. I started sketching out some ideas, inspired by what I found. I played around with different color combinations and sponsor placements. It was a bit messy at first, but I slowly started to see some designs that I really liked.
The Final Result
After a lot of trial and error, I finally came up with a few designs that I’m pretty happy with. They’re not official or anything, just my own take on what Joe Gibbs Racing could do with their 2023 Xfinity cars. I wanted something that felt fresh, but still connected to their history. This isn’t just about slapping colors on a car. It’s about telling a story, you know? The story of the team, the sponsors, and the driver. It was a fun little project. Maybe I’ll do more of these in the future. Who knows!
