My Thoughts on Allen vs Imavov
Okay, so I finally got around to watching that Allen versus Imavov fight everyone was talking about. Took me a bit, life gets busy, you know? Anyway, I settled down, grabbed some water, and hit play. Didn’t really have a dog in the fight, just wanted to see what happened.
Right from the start, I was watching Allen’s movement. He looked pretty sharp on his feet, moving in and out. Imavov seemed like he wanted to walk him down more, looked real solid. I spent the first round just kinda getting a feel for their rhythms. Made a mental note about Allen’s jab – seemed like he was trying to set something up with it.
Then, things started to heat up. They exchanged a few hard shots. I actually rewound one part, maybe in the second round? Imavov landed something clean, wanted to see Allen’s reaction again. He took it well, gotta give him that. Durability seemed decent on both sides early on.

Watching the Clinches
When they got close, that’s where I was really curious. Who would control the clinch? Seemed like they both had moments. I tried to focus on the little things:
- Hand positioning
- Who was pushing who against the cage
- Any sneaky knees or elbows
It felt pretty even in those spots for a while. Neither guy just dominated the grappling right away, more like a back-and-forth struggle for position. Took a few notes on a pad I keep nearby, just scribbled stuff like “Imavov strong fence pressure” or “Allen trying to circle out”. Nothing fancy.
Later Rounds and Takeaways
As the fight went on, you could see the pace affecting them. That’s always interesting to watch. Who manages their gas tank better? Seemed like Imavov started to impose his strength a bit more later. Allen was still game, still moving, but those impacts add up.

I watched the final moments closely. You try to see what led to the finish or the decision, whatever it was. What sequence really turned the tide? In this one, seemed like consistent pressure and maybe the heavier shots started making the difference.
Finished watching it. My main thought was it was a tough fight. Both guys showed skill, both showed heart. Imavov looked physically imposing, Allen showed good technique. Just a solid matchup overall. Didn’t blow my mind, but definitely worth the watch. Now I gotta clear my notes off the coffee table before someone complains.
