So, I dug this thing out the other day, my old Quebec Nordiques jersey. Haven’t worn it in ages, honestly. Seeing that igloo logo again kinda hit me.
Finding This Damn Thing
Getting my hands on a decent Nordiques jersey wasn’t easy, let me tell you. This was maybe, what, ten, fifteen years back? Before everything was just a click away, but still plenty of junk online. I started looking, thinking it’d be simple.
Boy, was I wrong.

First, I checked all the usual online spots. Mostly found cheap knock-offs. You know the type:
- Colors look weird, like they left it in the sun too long.
- Logo looks kinda puffy and sad.
- Material feels like a plastic tablecloth.
Then you got the guys asking insane prices for anything that looked remotely legit. Like, hundreds for a jersey that looked like it survived a bar fight. I wasn’t trying to buy a museum piece, just something to wear, remember the team.
I spent weeks scrolling through forums, weird old websites, auction sites. Sent emails, asked questions. Half the time, no reply. The other half, felt like I was dealing with shady characters selling stuff out of their trunk. It was getting frustrating, real frustrating.
Finally Got Lucky
Then, out of the blue, I stumbled onto this smaller hockey collectibles forum. Just browsing, really. Saw a post from some guy clearing out old stuff. He had a Nordiques jersey listed, decent photos, fair price. Looked like the real deal, an older CCM model.
I messaged him, we chatted a bit. Seemed like a normal dude, just a fan getting rid of duplicates. Took a chance, sent the money. Felt like a gamble, honestly. Half expected to get a box of rocks.

But nope. A week later, the package showed up. Opened it up, and there it was. Exactly as described. Felt solid, looked right. Put it on, felt good. Like finding a piece of history you thought was gone for good.
It’s funny, wearing it now kinda reminds me of that whole search. All that effort for a piece of clothing. But it wasn’t just about the jersey, you know? It was about remembering that team, that whole era. Things felt different back then. Simpler, maybe? Or maybe I was just younger. Who knows. Anyway, glad I found it when I did. Probably couldn’t afford a real one now.
