Okay, so today I’m diving into “20 of 135.” Sounds random, I know, but it’s part of a bigger project I’m working on. Basically, I needed to knock out a specific chunk of a much larger task list. Think of it like eating an elephant – one bite at a time, right?
I started this morning by firing up my laptop and pulling up the master list. It’s a sprawling spreadsheet, 135 items long, and honestly, a little intimidating. But I knew I needed to make some visible progress, so I decided to focus on just 20 of those tasks.
My Approach
- Identify the Easy Wins: First, I scanned the list for the low-hanging fruit. The stuff I could do quickly, without too much brainpower. You know, those tasks that give you a quick sense of accomplishment.
- Break Down the Big Stuff: Some tasks were a bit more involved. So, I broke them down into smaller, more manageable steps. Instead of “Write blog post,” it became “Outline blog post,” “Write first draft,” “Edit draft,” and “Publish.”
- Batch Similar Tasks: I also grouped together tasks that required the same kind of work. For example, if I had several emails to send, I did them all in one go. Same with making phone calls or running quick errands.
It wasn’t glamorous, but I just plowed through it. I set a timer for 25-minute intervals, took short breaks in between, and just kept at it. Some tasks took longer than expected, others were surprisingly quick. The key was to just keep moving, keep checking things off the list.

By the end of the day, I had managed to cross off all 20 items. It might not seem like a huge dent in the overall 135, but it felt good. It’s progress, and that’s what matters. Plus, I learned a few things along the way about how to better manage my time and tackle these kinds of projects. Tomorrow, I’ll grab another 20 and do it all again.
