So, I got this idea stuck in my head: “football glasses.” I didn’t really know what that meant, but I just had to see what I could do with it. It sounded kinda cool, right?
First Try: What Are Football Glasses?
First thing I did, I guess, was just mess around. I grabbed some cardboard. Yep, just regular old cardboard. I started cutting out shapes. Like, I tried to make them look like those wrap-around sports glasses, you know? The ones athletes wear. It was pretty rough.
I even taped some clear plastic wrap over the “lenses.” It looked… well, it looked like cardboard and plastic wrap. Not exactly high-fashion, haha.

- Step 1: Cut cardboard.
- Step 2: Tape on plastic wrap.
- Step 3: Realize it looks terrible.
Second Attempt: More Football-y!
Okay, the first try was a bust. But it got me thinking. Maybe I could make them look more like a football. So, I found some brown paper – that’s more football-colored, right?
I wrapped the cardboard frames with the brown paper. Much better! Then I drew on those white lines, like on a real football. I used a white paint pen I had lying around. They were starting to look… somewhat presentable?
Adding Some “Flair”
I was getting somewhere, but they were still kinda boring. I needed something more. I dug through my craft box and found some green felt. I figured, hey, football fields are green!
I cut out little strips of the green felt and glued them around the edges of the “glasses.” Kind of like a fuzzy, grassy frame. It was definitely… unique.
- Find brown paper. Wrap!
- White paint pen. Draw lines!
- Green felt! Glue, glue, glue!
The Final Result (For Now…)
So, that’s where I’m at. My “football glasses” are… something. They’re definitely homemade-looking. Are they stylish? No. Are they practical? Absolutely not. But hey, I made them! It was a fun little project, even if the end result is a bit ridiculous. I might keep messing with them, who knows? Maybe I’ll add some team logos or something next. Gotta use up the rest of that green felt, right?
