Okay, so today I wanted to get a handle on my kid’s school schedule. You know, bell times, lunch breaks, all that jazz. It’s always a mess of papers and emails, and I figured there HAD to be a better way. I’m calling this little project “Father Judge Bell Schedule” because, well, I’m a dad, and I’m laying down the law on schedule chaos!
Getting Started
First, I gathered all the info I could find. This meant digging through the school website, old emails, and even some crumpled newsletters I found in my kid’s backpack. It was like an archaeological dig, unearthing layers of outdated information.
The website, don’t be funny, It’s a nightmare. Finally I got it from email.

Organizing the Mess
Next, I opened up a simple spreadsheet. Nothing fancy, just good old Google Sheets. I created columns for the day of the week, period, start time, end time, and any notes (like “early dismissal” or “assembly”).
I start to type, type, type.
The Final Product
After a bit of copying and pasting, and some serious squinting at the screen, I had it! A clean, organized bell schedule. All in one place. No more searching through emails or trying to decipher my kid’s handwriting.
- Monday: Regular schedule.
- Tuesday: Late start.
- Wednesday: Regular schedule.
- Thursday: Early dismissal.
- Friday: Funky Friday schedule (whatever that means!).
Finally, feeling accomplished. Now I can quickly see when my kid has lunch, when to expect them home, and when those dreaded early dismissals are happening. A small victory, but a victory nonetheless!
