So, I was messing around with temperatures the other day, and I needed to figure out what 97.1 degrees Fahrenheit was in Celsius. I’m not great with remembering formulas, and frankly, who is? So I did what anyone else would do – I went online.
First, I grabbed my phone and opened up my browser. I typed in something like “97.1 f to c” and hit search.
My Conversion Process
- Looked it Up: Easy enough. The very first thing that popped up gave me the answer.
- Got the Answer: Right there it said that 97.1 Fahrenheit equals 36.17 Celsius. Sweet!
It’s pretty cool, actually. I learned that to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, you subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature and multiply that by 5/9. Like this:

°C = (°F – 32) × 5/9
So, I tried the math, that is:
(97.1 – 32) 5/9 = 36.17
It worked! I did the calculation myself just to double-check, and yep, it came out to 36.17 degrees Celsius. Pretty neat to see how it all works, even if I usually just look it up!
