Alright, so I wanted to get my hands on a Messi Ballon d’Or jersey, you know, to celebrate his incredible achievement. Here’s how I went about it.
Tracking Down the Jersey
First, I started with a broad search. Just to see what was out there. I checked some of the bigger sports retailers. You know, the usual suspects.
- Some had the regular Inter Miami jerseys, but no sign of the special Ballon d’Or edition.
- I found a couple of sketchy-looking websites. Definitely didn’t want to risk those.
Then I narrowed my search, checking the official Adidas website and the Inter Miami CF store. Still no luck.
Getting Creative
I figured these jerseys were probably limited edition and selling out fast. So, I decided to get a bit more creative.
- I set up some alerts on a couple of resale sites, just in case one popped up.
- I even looked into getting a regular Inter Miami jersey and customizing it.
- I looked into a place that could print the numbers and crest.
Customization Route
I found a place with good reviews, that do jersey printing and had the gold 8 and crest I wanted.
I ordered a blank Inter Miami jersey, and crest, and the number 8, then I took them to the local print shop. It would probably be a lot cheaper to have the store do it, but at least this route I won’t worry about whether it is legit or not.
Anyway, I dropped off everything at the shop. The guy there said it’d be ready in a couple of days.

The Final Product
A few days passed, I went back to the print shop and there it was. They did a solid job.
I now have my own “Messi Ballon d’Or” jersey. It might not be the official one, but it looks pretty darn good, and I’m happy with it!
