Okay, so I’ve been hearing about this “Leonard Gates Darts” thing and figured I’d give it a shot. I’m no pro, but I like throwing some darts now and then.
Getting Started
First thing I did was grab my old dartboard. It was a bit dusty, needed a good wipe down. Then, I made sure I had some decent darts. Nothing fancy, just a standard set I picked up a while back.
The Practice
I looked up the Leonard Gates * is about the throwing style. So I tried to copy that. I stood, I don’t know, maybe 8 feet away from the board? Just eyeballed it, really.

- Stance: Feet shoulder-width apart, kinda sideways to the board. Felt a little weird at first, but I got used to it.
- Grip: Tried to hold the dart lightly, like I was holding a baby bird or something. Not too tight, not too loose.
- The Throw:And copy the Leonard Gates throwing style. It’s a bit hard.
I started throwing. First few were all over the place. One nearly missed the board completely! But I kept at it. After about 15 minutes, I started to get a little bit of a rhythm going.
Getting Better (Slowly)
I tried to focus on keeping my arm steady and following through with the throw. Still wasn’t hitting the bullseye every time, but I was getting closer. More darts were landing in the general vicinity of where I was aiming.
I spent, I guess, close to an hour just throwing darts. It was kind of relaxing, actually. Just me, the board, and the darts. No pressure, just trying to improve my aim.
My Thoughts
I will continue to practice this style. I will be keep practicing.
