Okay, so the other day I was messing around, trying to figure something out, and I got stuck on this super simple question: What’s 2 of 500,000? I know, I know, it sounds dumb, but sometimes my brain just freezes on the easy stuff.
First, I just stared at the numbers. 500,000… that’s a big number. 2… well, that’s about as small as it gets. I tried to picture it in my head, like, what if I had 500,000 pennies and I only wanted 2 of them? That didn’t really help.
Then, I grabbed my phone and opened the calculator. My first thought was to maybe divide 500,000 by 2. I punched it in, but then I realized that’s not what I wanted at all. That would give me half of 500,000, which is 250,000. Nope, totally wrong direction.

I smacked my forehead. Duh! It’s asking what 2 is, as a number, within that larger number. I was looking at the question and my brain was overthinking something.
It simply asking for the number, 2.
So there you have it. Sometimes, the simplest questions can trip you up the most. I spent way too long thinking about this, but hey, at least I got there in the end!
