Yesterday, I was just messing around, and I had this random thought: how many hours are there in 1420 minutes? It’s not something I usually think about, but I got curious.
So, I grabbed my phone and opened up the calculator app. I typed in 1420 and then divided it by 60, because, you know, 60 minutes in an hour.
The Calculation Part
- Started with the total minutes: 1420
- Divided by the number of minutes in an hour: 60
And there it was, the answer popped up on the screen: 23.6666667. It’s kind of a long, messy number, so in reality, I just paid attention to the 23, it’s enough for me.

So, basically, 1420 minutes is the same as 23 and a half-ish hours. I spent a few seconds just staring at the *’s interesting how we can easily convert these units, isn’t it?
It was a totally unplanned mini-project. I started with a simple question, performed a basic calculation, and ended up with a clear answer. No big deal, but still satisfying in a weird way.
