So, I’ve been messing around with this golf game lately, and let me tell you, the “shortest par 4” holes are a real trip. I thought, “Hey, this should be easy, right?” Wrong. It became a whole thing, and I just had to share the mess I got myself into.
I started off all confident, you know? Picked out a driver, figured I’d just smash the ball as far as I could. First swing, I sliced it right into the rough. Okay, no big deal, I thought. I can recover from this. I grabbed my trusty iron and tried to punch it out.
- Second swing, I whiffed it. Completely. The ball didn’t even move. I could hear the virtual birds chirping, probably laughing at me.
- Third swing, I finally connected, but it was a weak little dribbler that barely made it out of the rough.
At this point, I’m starting to sweat. I’m on a “shortest par 4,” and I’m already on my fourth shot. I switched to a wedge, thinking I could at least get it close to the green.
- Fourth swing, I chunked it. Dug a nice big divot in the ground, and the ball went about ten feet.
Now, I’m starting to get really frustrated. My carefully laid plan of crushing the ball to the green in one go? Yeah, not so much. I had to take a deep breath and remind myself this was just a game.
- Fifth swing, I finally got a decent shot off. The ball landed on the green, but it was way on the other side.
I was facing a super long putt. I lined it up, took a few practice swings, and went for it.
- Sixth swing, I hit the ball way too hard. It rolled right past the hole and off the green.
I’ve done goofed
I couldn’t believe it. I was now further away from the hole than I was before! This “shortest par 4” was turning into a nightmare.
- Seventh swing, I chipped it back onto the green, closer to the hole this time, but still not great.
- Eighth swing, another putt… and I missed. Just barely.
- Ninth swing, finally, I tapped it in.
Nine shots. On a “shortest par 4.” I felt like a complete idiot. But hey, at least it was a good laugh, right? And it’s a story I just had to tell. So there you have it, my epic fail on the “shortest par 4.” Anyone else have a similar disaster they want to share?
